KARACHI: A banking court in Karachi on Friday rejected petition to hand over accused Abdul Ghani Majeed to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in money laundering case.
Lawyer of the accused pleaded the court for not ordered physical remand of Abdul Ghani Majeed to the anti-corruption watchdog. Later, the banking court rejected the plea of NAB seeking custody of one of the accused in mega money laundering case.
On the other hand, the Sindh High Court (SHC) held hearing of plea submitted by banker Hussain Lawai, Talha Raza and Anwar Majeed where the counsel said that the accused was jailed since last six month, hence the bail plea should be heard.
The court remarked that the decision was in hand of trial court for release of the accused person. Later, the SHC summoned progress report from NAB on February 15.
