Karachi(March 26, 2018): Lahore high court has rejected petition seeking the restoration of freezed accounts of the Paragon City.
According to the details, two-member bench of Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Saleem Sheikh conducted the hearing against the arrest of former DG(LDA) Ahad Cheema and seized accounts of Paragon city..The lawyer of Ahad Cheema was engaged with the other court and could not be able to appear in the hearing while National Accountability Bureau(NAB) opposed the petition filed against the arrest of Cheema.
NAB’s Council told the court that Chairman NAB has issued the arrest warrants according to the law while Cheema’s lawyer should have approached Accountability court first. however, Court has rejected the petition to restore the accounts of Paragon city.The Lawyer of Paragon City told the court that the remaining dues of employees cannot be cleared as the account seized by the NAB.
The court has rejected the demand for restoration of bank accounts, while court summoned an answer over the issue till April 17.
The court has adjourned the hearing for one day, tomorrow.
