KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday rejected a petition seeking suspension of the arrest warrant of Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani including other accused issued by National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Two member divisional bench of SHC headed by Justice Iqbal Kalohoro heard the bail petition of Agha Siraj Durrani, Maseeh Uddin, Gulzar Ahmed and others wherein the court rejecting the petition for suspension of the arrest warrant of Agha Siraj Durrani said that implementation on the warrant has been done and how it can be revoked now.?
The prosecutor of anti-graft body apprised the court it filed the reference against the Speaker Sindh Assembly and 20 others while Agha Siraj Durrani now in jail and his family has runaway from the country adding that the NAB has detected Agha Siraj Durrani’s 35 vehicles and the properties worth of millions.
The prosecutor also informed the court that Agha Siraj used his powers illegally, conducted illegal recruitment and corruption, made assets beyond the means and the NAB has collected all evidences agaisnt him.
Justice Iqbal Kalhoro said that immediate hearing can not be done due to summer vacations while the court ordering the arguments for bail adjourned the hearing till August 7.
