Court sieging case: IG Sindh to be indicted in contempt of court

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah headed bench issued written orders for imposition of comtempt of court charges in next hearing as Inspector General (IG) Sindh had not revealed truth before the court over Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) and Sindh High Court (SHC) sieging case.

Justice Sajjad Ali Shah headed bench heard case regarding seige of ATC, SHC by police on May 23. The court said that various police officers were present in the high court on the day  along with AIG Logistic Faisal Basheer Memon who was apprising IG Sindh over complete situation.

The written orders stated that various officers were removed on May 19 after occurrence of the incident took place outside ATC on May 18 while IG Sindh kept lips closed over transfers and appointments and names of various officers. IG Sindh had silently appointed Chaudhry Asad as SSP South after removing Tariq Dharejo.
