Crackdown against substandard meat in Punjab, 20 butchers arrested

LAHORE: Crackdown against selling of substandard, dead and sick animals meat continued across Punjab, while five mun substandard meat has been seized from illegal slaughter houses, whereas the raiding team also arrested four butchers.

Several officers have been mobilized after the operations by Dabang lady officer of Punjab Food Authority, Ayesha Mumtaz. Three mun substandard meat has been seized from illegal slaughter houses in Green Town area of Lahore, while Live Stock Department’s raiding team has sealed illegal slaughter house and handed over three people to police after arresting.

Live Stock Department raiding team carried out operation in Faisal Town and seized two Mun substandard meat, while arrested the butcher and handed over to police. Meat Inspection Lahore In-Charge Dr. Kashif Jaleel said that the butchers used illegal slaughter house to slaughter sick animals.

Live Stock Department Droctor Sabir Aslam revealed that yellow colored meat is from sick animal meat, which is the main reason to spread Hepatitis and other diseases. Live Stock Department Punjab has accelerated operations against sellers of substandard meat and slaughter houses, and they are committed not to allow anyone to play with human lives.
