CTD kill four suspected terrorists in Multan encounter

Multan (May 15, 2017): Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab Police on Monday killed four terrorists in an encounter in a village in Multan.

As per details, CTD conducted a raid in village Chak 116 on a tip-off that eight terrorists were hiding in the village.

Police asked the suspected terrorists to surrender. Instead of surrendering, the suspects opened fire on the raiding team which ensued an encounter.

In retaliatory firing, four of the terrorists were killed and the other managed to escape due to darkness of the night.

CTD officials said that the slain terrorists include Usman Basra and Abdul Rehman. The identities of the two others could not be ascertained as yet.

Police recovered 10 kilograms explosive materials, hand grenades, two rifles and a pistol from the possession of the terrorists.

It is to be mentioned here that soon after the launch of Operation Rad-ul-Fasaad in the country, security forces have intensified their campaign against militants and sectarian and banned outfits in Punjab, the most populous province of the country, and so far have killed many suspected militants and members of banned sectarians outfits in encounters.
