BIRMINGHAM: The Pakistani pacers particularly Shaheen Afridi toppled middle order of the Kiwis and not allowed to accumulate big total as they can only manage to set 238-runs target in a crucial contest of the World Cup at Birmingham.
New Zealand lost five wickets only at 83 but after the collapsed the Neesham and Grandhomme put the team in relatively in a better position.
As New Zealand started its innings, the ball getting a swing and young Shaheen Shah Afridi ripped through the Kiwis batting and pushed them on the back foot.
However, 115-run sixth wicket partnership between Neesham and Grandhomme has given some chance to fight back. Neesham posted classical unbeaten 97 on 112 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes while Grandhomme made 64.
Afridi took three wickets giving away 28 runs while Muhammad Amir and Shadab grabbed a wicket each.
