D G Khan: Women Teachers’ Protest Slashing Weekly Offs from 2 to 1

Dera Ghazi Khan (October 26, 2017): Women teachers of Divisional Public schools and colleges staged a protest demonstration outside Commissioner Office against the decision to slash of weekly day-offs from two to one.

Dozens of teachers boycotted their classes and staged a vociferous protest demonstration against the cutting the two weekly holidays to one. The agitating teachers demanded the withdrawal of the decision and to restoration of two weekly holidays.

The pedestrians and the motorists were hit worst by the teachers’ protest.

It may be mentioned here that Divisional Public schools and colleges observed two weekly offs- on Saturday and Sunday- but the Deputy Commissioner had scrapped off the weekly-off on Saturday.

It may be mentioned here that the Deputy Commissioner had issued the day-off-slashing order exclusively for the teachers of Divisional Public schools and colleges.
