ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday said that Daesh would have made its centre in North Waziristan had Pakistan not launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2014 against terrorist.
“Operation Zarb-e-Azb has broken the network of terrorists,” Aziz said while speaking at an interactive session on Pak-US dialogue organized by Regional Peace Instuituite and US Embassy in Pakistan.
He said that during last year terrorism incidents dropped by 70 percent. He added that Zarb-e-Azb operation had helped eliminate terrorism.’
He added that work on Maddrassah reforms was also underway. He added peace in Afghanistan meant the same in Pakistan.
The foreign minister also spoke about the Pakistan-US relations, saying that Pakistan wants to have dialogue with US at every level.
He added that Pakistan attached great importance to its military and economic relations with the US.
