London (November 27, 2018): Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar said that the current condition of water shortage in Pakistan has made the construction of dams inevitable.
While addressing World Congress of Overseas Pakistanis (WCOP), CJP Saqib Nisar claimed that formation of dams is the only way out for the nation of Pakistan to face the current dearth of water.

During the address, CJP said that the total amount required for the construction of dams is Rs. 1600 Billion and such humongous amount cannot be collected through small time to time donations.
Mian Saqib Nisar hinted towards new ways for the collection of remaining amount for dams construction, he said, “We have to look for some other methods for collect the huge sums as we have to build more than one dam.”
CJP said that he was all ears to receive new ideas for the purpose. He has asked for expert economists to suggest methods which will increase the collection for dams construction.
Mian Saqib Nisar said, “It has been 40 years when the last dam [Tarbela Dam] was built. No interest poured in for the creation of dam is no less than a criminal act.”
