Islamabad (October 03, 2017): Finance Minister Muammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday signed an agreement to allow payments of taxes through ATMs’ Machines among the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and 1-Link at the Ministry of Finance.
The signing ceremony was chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar. The Agreement was signed by Governor SBP, Mr. Tariq Bajwa, Chairman FBR, Mr. Tariq Pasha and senior representative of 1-Link, Mr.Najeeb Agrawalla.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan was also present on the occasion.On the occasion, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar congratulated SBP and FBR for their efforts to boost internet banking. He expressed hope that all the formalities would be completed soon and the system would be operational by the end of this year.
Governor SBP, Mr. Tariq Bajwa said that the initiative is part of SBP Vision 2020, which envisages the development of the robust payment system and it’s primarily aimed at facilitating the taxpayers and public at large in payment of taxes. According to the details, Bank will automatically deduct Rs 10 and Rs 20 from the tax payment of Rs1 Lakh and 1 million respectively.
The facility would be seven days a week. Modern system will enable payment of taxes through Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs).The banks will add FBR (Inland Revenue) and FBR (Customs) as billers in the billers module.
Banks will also develop the necessary interface with 1-Link and after the system is made operational.
