Dar’s Plea For Political Asylum in Britain Proves He is Thief: Fawad

Islamabad (October 20, 2018): Minister for Information Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Friday said that the application of Ishaq Dar for political asylum in Britain proved that he was a thief.

In a statement, Fawad said that if his (Ishaq) hands were clean he would not have fled the country.

He said the application for political asylum by those,who looted wealth of the people of Pakistan was a test for the British government and system of justice in Britain.

The people of Pakistan wanted that the international community should stand against those who looted the country, he added.

He said that the courts and institutions were meeting the demands of law and justice with full responsibility and impartiality.

Ishaq Dar should face the court as running away from the legal process was akin to accepting the crime, he added.The minister said the law will take its own course against the wanted accused.

Earlier, the family of the former finance minister Ishaq Dar categorically denied the news regarding submission of a plea seeking political asylum in the United Kingdom.

According to Dar Family sources, he visited the home office in London, however, did not go there for filing asylum plea.

“The asylum request has not submitted in the home office in Britain,” sources said adding that Ishaq Dar visa will function till 2020, however his visa was suspended on the orders of the apex court.

Sources revealed that nobody can stay in British more than six months on visit visa, therefore after the cancellation of his visa he can’t travel outside the Britain.“Dar has conveyed all details to home office so that he could not be turned as an illegal citizen in Britain,” family said adding that Dar will follow what the instruction will be given by the home office in this connection.

Commenting over his picture with a guard of the home office, said that if he wanted to hide his arrival at home office he did not shot a photo with the uniformed guard.

Earlier, the news was circulating in media that Ishaq Dar has submitted an application seeking political asylum in Britain.
