Dawar Killers Will Be Brought To Justice: Shehryar Afridi

Islamabad (November 15, 2018): Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi has said that Afghan Government confirmed on Wednesday the death of SP Tahir Khan Dawar, who had been kidnapped from Islamabad and taken there.

Addressing press conference over the incident, he said culprits behind this heinous crime will be taken to task.

He said that he went to Torkham border on the directives of PM Imran Khan, however the conduct of Afghanistan security forces was negative and regrettable.

“We have waited more than two and a half hours at Torkham border and during the period the Afghan administration and security forces behaviour was regrettable and later they refused to hand over SP Tahir dead body to Pakistan embassy,” he said.He vowed that government will take the issue to its logical end.

“Foes of Pakistan have the agenda to create unrest in the country, however we should have united against all kind of conspiracies as PM pledged to take strict action against the murderers of SP Tahir, ” he clarified.

He mentioned that a high-level meeting with the chair of PM Imran will be held tomorrow in this connection.

Earlier, addressing in Senate he said the previous government had installed about 1,800 cameras in the federal capital under safe city project, but unfortunately, over 600 of them are non-functional.He said not a single camera is able to capture recognizable pictures of vehicles and dubious people. He urged the House to initiate an inquiry into the safe city project.

The House also offered fateha for the departed soul of martyred SP Tahir Khan Dawar.

Senators paid rich tributes to SP Tahir Khan Dawar and demanded of the government to unearth the mystery behind this incident.
