ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to continue an inquiry committee instead of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe ‘Dawn leak’.
Earlier, it was decided that a JIT would be constituted to investigate national security leak. However, the government decided to constitute an inquiry committee headed by a retired judge to investigate ‘Dawn leak’.
On the other hand, the names of members of the proposed inquiry committee were presented to the Prime Minister.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the inquiry committee would be constituted within two to three days. He said that no inquiry was underway against Pervaiz Rashid.
Nisar further said that the committee would be allowed to work in independent atmosphere. He said that no one could point finger at the integrity and honesty of the members of the committee.
