Death toll of Parachinar blast rises to 24, funeral prayer of victims offered

PESHAWAR: The death toll of Parachinar blast increased to 24 as another injured died during treatment.

The critical injured of the blast had been shifted to Peshawar yesterday and are being treated at the hospitals in the provincial capital. Medics said that condition of many of the injured was critical.

As per initial investigation, twelve kilograms explosive material was used in the blast.

Meanwhile, the funeral prayer of 20 victims of the deadly blast was held on Saturday afternoon.

At least 24 people were killed and over 50 injured when an IED blast planted in the vegetable market went off.

Inspector General of Frontier Corps Major General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood, Brig Amir Muhammad Khan, Commandant Tall Bridge, Member National Assembly Sajid Topri, Political Agency Khurram Ikram Ullah and people from different walk of life, and relatives of the deceased attended the funeral prayers.

Soon after the prayers, bodies were handed over to the relatives and heirs for burial.
