SADIQABAD: The death toll of collision between passenger train Akbar Express and a freight train has climbed to 13 whereas more than 60 injured are hospitalized.
The Lahore to Quetta train Akbar Express rammed into a freight train at Dulhar railway station in Rahim Yar Khan’s Sadiqabad at 4:30 am on Thursday.
Rescue teams and officials of Pakistan Army are at the site to aid the injured and restore the track for free flow of trains, according to latest reports.
On the other hand, Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has announced compensation money for the victims of the accident.
Sheikh Rasheed expressed sorrow over the loss of lives in an accident of Akbar Express, affirming that the responsible individuals won’t be spared.
He announced to give Rs1.5 million to bereaved families and Rs0.5 million to the families of the injured.
