Lahore (July 05, 2018): Session court in Lahore once again asked Meesha Shafi to reply to defamation case filed against her by Ali Zafar, on Thursday. Additional Session Judge Shehzad Ahmed directed that the court’s notice seeking her reply to be posted outside her residence.
Additional Sessions Judge Shehzad Ahmed heard the case, however, Meesha failed to submit the reply by today as earlier ordered by the court.
After having a short hearing, it is ordered that the court’s notice seeking her reply should be posted outside her residence. She has been given time till August 13 to submit her reply in the case and hearing has been postponed.Last month, Ali submitted a defamation suit to a district court against Meesha.
The suit, claiming damages of Rs1 billion, was filed under the Defamation Ordinance 2002.
On 10th April, Meesha Shafi took to Twitter to publicly accuse Ali Zafar of physically harassing her on more than one occasion.She said that this happened with me when I was famous in the industry and I was the mother of 2 children.
Earlier, singer and actress Meesha Shafi accussed Ali Zafar for sexually harassing her on more than one occasion.The singer took to Twitter to speak up about her experience stating “my conscience does not allow me to be silent anymore.”Later, Ali Zafer filed a defamation suit in a court in Lahore through his lawyer, asking for an apology From Mesha Shafi for leveling baseless allegations and pay Rs1 Billion in damages.
Ali Zafar’s lawyer Advocate Tariq Rahim said that Meesha Shafi has made false and baseless allegations against Ali Zafar.
