Delhi: “Freedom for Kashmir” posters bedeck Nehru University

NEW DELHI: Posters demanding ‘Free Kashmir’ have bedecked at Nehru University here. The students of Nehru University have started a new campaign for a ‘freedom for Kashmir”.

The posted plastered at the wall of the University asks in Hindi/Urdu-written-in-English, ” Want is it that we want? and then answers the question saying, “The freedom of Kashmir, freedom of Manipir, freedom of Nagaland.” The hand written poster is signed off as “Radical” in bold capital letters in red.

The text of another poster, this one in English, that also demands freedom for “Kashmir, Nagalim, Manipur, Assam, Eelam, Palestine” asks basic rights should be provided to Kashmiris. There are also sentences to liberate Palestine from the clutches of Israel.

Indian rulers and media have been panicked by the posters and this has prompted Indian President Pranab Mukherjee to come forward against the freedom seekers. He said at a ceremony that there is no place in India for those raising slogans of freedom.

Meanwhile, a video of a Indian army officer is available on the media in which he calls those chanting anti-India slogans more dangerous than terrorists.
