Dense Smog, Fog Blanket Many Punjab Cities

Lahore (November 5, 2017): Many cities in Punjab province including provincial capital Lahore are under dense fog and smog drastically reducing the visibility. The Motorway Police has advised the motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and refrain from speeding and also to use fog lights to help avoid accidents.

The Motorway Police has also asked the motorists to avoid using cell phone.

The smog and fog, as the case may be, has severely limited the visibility. According to spokesman of Motorway thick fog has cut down the visibility substantially on the Lahore-Oindi Bhattian section of the Motorway. Visibility has been restricted to less than 5 metres at most points along the Motorway while Khanewal-Multan and Babu Sabir-Kot Momin sections of the motorway have been closed due to thick fog which has reduced visibility to less than 50 meters.

The motorists are also advised to use G T Road. The Motorway Police spokesman has said that motorists to call 130 in case of any emergency.

The thick fog has also effected the flight schedule at Allama Iqbal Airport Lahore. Travelers are facing many problems as many flights were delayed.

The train schedule at Lahore Railway Station has also been effected.

Dense fog limited visibility to zero in and around Mianwali city. The Traffic Police has asked motorists to use fog lights and to keep the speed at a minimal.

Meanwhile, fog has severely affected traffic flow in Pindi Bhattian. It has forced Motorway M-3 to be closed for traffic. The Motorway Police has asked the people to call Motorway Police Helpline at 130.

Visibility has also be restricted to zer in Kehror Pakka city and surroundings. The Patrolling Police has asked the motorists to keep the speed slow and to use fog lights.

Many other Punjab cities including Bhawalpur, Safdarabad, Haroonabad,Toba Tek Singh, and various other villages and suburban areas are also grips of dense of fog which has seriously effected the daily life.
