ISLAMABAD: For the first time in the history of the country Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly has been given a charge of acting Governor Sindh.
In the absence of Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, who is leaving for Hajj for 10 days, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly Rehana Leghari will be the acting Governor Sindh.
The cabinet division of the Federal Cabinet has issued a notification in this regard as well as per article 104 of the constitution.
As per the constitution, Speaker Sindh Assembly (SA) assumes the acting charge of the Governor Sindh, however, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani is in the custody of the NAB and investigation underway against him due to this Deputy Speaker SA has been given the charge.
