Islamabad (October 14, 2017): The Accountability Court has issued detailed verdict in case of chaos outside it, in which police and lawyers scuffled each other on Friday as Maryam Nawaz appeared before the accountability court.
Accountability court ordered the secretary interior to investigate the issue with all pros and cons and also probe “Had Objective behind the chaos to influence the court.”
Court has also ordered the IG police to deeply investigate the issue and summoned the report in the court.
Earlier today, An FIR was registered at Ramna Police Station for slapping and pushing lawyers outside Islamabad’s accountability court on Friday on the occasion of Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safder’s appearance before the accountability court in corruption reference.
The FIR was registered by Inspector Shakeel Ahmed, who was slapped and pushed by the layers accompanying Maryam and Safder.
A video showed a group of lawyers pushing Ahmed, one of whom also slapped him, as the policeman was busy performing his duties outside the courtroom ahead of court proceedings against the Sharifs.
A commotion by members of the legal fraternity on Friday forced the accountability court judge hearing corruption cases against the Sharif family to adjourn proceedings minutes after they began.
With strict security arrangements in place, police barred non-essential personnel, including lawyers, from entering the complex.
This led to a scuffle with the police, which resulted in the injury of at least one lawyer.
