Lahore (September 20, 2017): Lahore High Court on Wednesday reserved verdict on maintainability of identical petitions seeking life-time disqualification of MNA-elect Kulsoom Nawaz.

The petitioners have submitted that Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court and now he cannot hold membership of assembly.

The petitioners alleged that Kulsoom Nawaz was part of Nawaz’s Sharif’s alleged crime so she should also be disqualified for holding membership of the assembly.

The petitioners added that Kulsoom Nawaz was not eligible or qualified for contesting elections from NA-120 in recent by-election.

The petitioners further pleaded the court to ask the three-member bench of the court to review its decision to reject appeal against acceptance of nomination papers of Kulsoom Nawaz.

The petitioners urged the court to disqualify Kulsoom from the date of his elections as MNA.

The court after hearing arguments of the petitioners counsel on maintainability of the petitions reserved its verdict.

The judge during the course of hearing remarked that prima facie the petitions were not maintainable as Supreme Court had already decide similar petitions.
