LAHORE: The districts administration on Thursday removed panaflex banners , which sprung in the provincial metropolis soon after apex court revealed its would be handing down its verdict on Panama case.
After the SC’s announcement on Tuesday it would pronounced its reserved verdict on Panamagate case, banners and panaflexes inscribed with slogans in support of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were displayed in the almost all areas of the city.
One of the main slogans the banners carry is – Qauid tera aik ishara hazir hazir lahu hamara (Chief we are ready to shed our blood on your one call). The banners have been displayed by Railway Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique and his aides as its carry their pictures too along with a prominent picture of Nawaz Shairf.
The banners especially the slogan on it ‘Qauid tera aik ishara hazir hazir lahu hamara’ drew strong criticism from across the boards. Following the criticism on TV channels and social-media, the district administration of Lahore on Thursday removed the panaflex banners.
However, in Rawalpindi PML-N workers displayed panaflex banners inscribed with slogans in support of Nawaz Sharif. The banners have been displayed by local leaders of PML-N.
