Don’t want arms race but India is forcing it: Sartaj Aziz

Saying that a solution over the funding of F-16s would be found Advisor Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that no pressure over Shakeel Afridi was accepted before and no pressure will will be acceptable now.

We don’t want arms race in the region but India is forcing it upon us, he said adding that Pakistan has an affective command and control system for its nuclear program.

Addressing a seminar over Nuclear non-proliferation he said that Afghanistan has not given a threat but rather expressed hits frustration. We are a part of reconciliatory process in Afghanista, force is being used since 2014 to restore peace there but it is not the solution of the problem.

He also informed tat a delegation of Afghan Taliban recently visited Pakistan. U.S. has approved sales of F-16 to Pakistan but there is a financing problem. U.S. is concerned about Shakeel Afridi because pakistan has not accepted its pressure over him.

Talking about Pak-India talks Sartaj said that during foreign secretary’s India visit the final date of the talks was not decided but the talks will take place.

He further informed that investigations from Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadev’s continue.

Pakistan’s nuclear missile technology program is of international standard and the system is capable to respond to any challenges, he added.
