DRAP Has Been Trying To Provide Best Medical Facilities: CEO

Islamabad( January 25, 2018): CEO of Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Aslam Afghani conducted a press conference today to inform media about three years performance of the organization.

He told media that DRAP has always been trying to provide best facilities among common men through the implementation of law.

DRAP permitted 113 new cases regarding drug manufacturing and their prices, conducted 31 meeting of registration board and reassured availability of 12000 new medicines during past three years, while introduced 2D bar code to suspend the sell of fake medicines. He added that WHO recognized Central Drug Laboratory is expected to be operating from 2018.According to details, 20 crore 36 lacs and 30 thousand have been fined to people, who were involved in illegal drug supply.

Registration board aims to introduce new and more effective medicines for cancer, viral thelesemia and blood bags. Federal government fixed the price of 192 new drugs according to Drug Processing Policy 2015. Central licensing board issued 67 new licenses and exceeded units of 142 pharmaceutical companies.
