Dubai (September 06, 2018): An Indian man has died after falling from the rooftop of building in Dubai. Dubai authorities are investigating the death.
According to authorities, man was identified as Shafeer, an Indian from Kerala’s Kollam district. Shafeer was shifted to hospital after falling from rooftop. Later, he died in the hospital, following severe injuries caused by his free fall.
According to Gulf newspaper, company manager, where deceased used to work, said that he had went to the roof for a break in the sunlight due to a Vitamin D deficiency he allegedly had.
Manager said that he had started going to the terrace of the four-storey building during his lunch break after a doctor advised him a few days ago to expose himself to sunlight between 11am and 2pm for vitamin D. Either he might have tried to sit on the very short parapet or he might have slipped, or had dizziness. We can only assume all these because he was alone at that time.
He said that Abdul Salam was a very friendly person. All of us are saddened and shocked.
Heirs of deceased includes his wife and a four years old daughter.
