ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has restored petitions seeking Imran Khan and Jehangir Tarin disqualified adjourning the hearing to indefinitely.
The the five-member Commission of the EC headed by Chief Election Commissioner heard the petitions filed by Shah Nawaz Dhallon and Hashim Ali Bhatta against Imran Khan and by Malik Khalil Ahmad and Bilal Mustafa Bhatta.
Talking to media after the hearing Dhallon told the media about the restoration of the case. PTI’s counsel Shahid Naseem Gondal told the media that he had opposed the restoration saying his case is based on Articles 62 and 63 of the constitution.
Gondal further said that the petitioners plead the Commission for more time today once again.
The hearing is being adjourned indefinitely because the cases seeking Imran’s and Tarin’s disqualification at Supreme Court and EC are pending hearing at both these venues.
