ISLAMABAD: Economic Coordination Council (ECC) on Wednesday gave approval to the summary of Petroleum division proposing a hike in the gas prices by 190 percent.
A meeting of the ECC was chaired by Financial Adviser Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in which the committee approved the summary of increasing the gas prices for domestic and commercial users.
According to sources, the committee approved a hike in the gas prices for domestic and commercial users’ up to 190 percent.
However, the final approval will be bound to the approval of the federal cabinet in a meeting before June 30.
A notification will be issued after the approval of the federal cabinet.
The change in gas prices will be applicable from July 1.
