ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Abdul Hafeez Shaikh has summoned a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) today, to discuss important issues including an increase in the gas prices.
The ECC will mull over 13-point agenda in the meeting.
ECC will approve a bill to allow the import of controlled chemical and provision of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to export sector, leather textile carpet and sports surgical.
The ECC will also discuss the issue of fuel adjustment price charged from peasants as the approval for the subsidy on tube wells for Balochistan will also be expected.
The meeting will also approve the supplementary grant of Rs one billion for Pakistan tourism endowment funds. Sources said a meeting will approve relief on custom and sales tax duty while the grant of Rs 300 million will be approved for the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
