ECO Chamber’s delegation meets Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD:  Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has urged ECO member countries to take measures for enhancing mutual connectivity to boost trade and economic development of the region.

Talking to a delegation of ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad, he said liberalization of visa regime for businesspersons would play important role in this regard.

He told the delegation that regional connectivity was being enhanced through bilateral and multilateral agreements.

He said that ECO member countries have 16 percent of the world population but their share in international trade was just two percent.

He called upon the ECO members to focus on boosting trade and investment.

Ishaq Dar said Pakistan has achieved macro-economic stability, and is now treading on the path of sustainable and inclusive growth. He said International experts acknowledged the economic headway Pakistan has made.
