Islamabad (July 12, 2017): Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday adjourned hearing of reference seeking Imran Khan disqualification case till August.
A five-member bench of ECP heard reference filed against Imran Khan seeking his disqualification as member of National Assembly.
Imran Khan’s counsel Faisal Chaudhry said that a case of similar nature was pending in the Supreme Court. He added that they faced problems outside the court as people, as people says ECP expressed anger over PTI.’
Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan said that that they needed to see what proceeding was going on in the apex court. He added whenever a petition was filed in ECP they are bound to hear it.
He added that the ECP did not comment against anyone, adding that it was the problem of petitioners.
The ECP adjourned the hearing of the case for being pending in the Supreme Court till August.
Talking to media outside ECP, Faisal Chaudhry said that all these petitions were filed to counter Panama case.
He added that the cases were being instituted to blackmail Imran Khan. He added that Imran Khan would come clean in Supreme Court and ECP too.
