ECP Adjourns Hearing of PTI Petition for De-seating Gulalai

Islamabad (October 4, 2017): Dissident PTI MNA Aisha Gulalai on Wednesday urged Election Commission of Pakistan to reject the documents submitted by PTI in a petition seeking to de-seat her.

A bench of ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice Sardar Raza Khan heard PTI petition seeking the commission to de-seat the MNA for violating party discipline.

Gulalai counsel Barrister Masroor did not appear before the ECP. Gulalai submitted reply on the additional documents of PTI which it submitted on last hearing.

The MNA said that the reference sent to Speaker National Assembly did not contained any show cause notice not other related documents. She pleaded the Commission not to accept the additional documents.She took the plea that the additional documents were baseless and fabricated. She added that she was not informed about the Bani Gala meeting on July 29, 2017.

She added that when she reached the meeting it had already concluded.The lawmaker said that she was not given any instruction regarding the election of prime minister and party’s candidate.

She urged the bench to reject the application foiled by Imran Khan on September 18 and 22, 2017.

The ECP adjourned further hearing till October 10, 2017.
