The PTI chief failed to submit reply on contempt of court case. PTI counsel told the court that he could not contact Imran Khan reading the notice as he was in Nathia Gali.

During last hearing the ECP had rejected Imran Khan’s response in the contempt of court case against him.

PTI chief counsel Fawad Chaudhry had submitted Khan’s response to the ECP bench, prompting the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza to ask the counsel to review his client’s response. “The matter of contempt of court is actually a case of misunderstanding,” read Chaudhry.

The CEC responded, “After reviewing the response, it is clear that Imran Khan has taken back the review petition, however, he has yet to apologise.”

In the foreign funding case too, the PTI failed to submit the details of party funding.  The petitioner counsel Hashim Ali Bhutta told the ECP that it was eighth month since the hearing of the case started but PTI did not submit reply.

To a query of CEC, PTI counsel Faisal Chaudhry said that PTI counsel Advocate Shahid Gondal had gone to UK and upon his return reply would be submitted in the case.

Upon this the ECP adjourned hearing of the case till June 22, 2017.
