ECP Issues Guidelines For ROs About Compilation of Results

Islamabad (July 20, 2018): Election Commission of Pakistan(ECP) on Friday has dispatched letters to the returning officers about the preparation of election results.

According to the commission, the returning officers(ROs) will prepare form number forty-five after the counting of ballots which will contain details about the votes secured by the candidates.

Details about the unused ballot papers will be listed in form number forty-six.

Preparations For General Elections Are In Full Swing: ECP

All wings of the Election Commission of Pakistan are continuing preparations for the upcoming general election.

This was briefed during a meeting of the ECP chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan in Islamabad.It was informed that printing of ballot papers has entered the final phase; however, the process has been halted for eighty-five constituencies of national and provincial assemblies due to cases pending in various high courts.

The commission expressed its satisfaction over preparations made so far.

Meanwhile, In Punjab, preparation is being finalized to hold forthcoming general elections in a fair and transparent manner.

Over 48000 polling stations have been setup across the province where over two lac police personnel and police volunteers will be deployed for security purposes.

Punjab has 60.67 million registered voters, out of which 33.68 million are male and 26.99 million are female.ECP Launches SMS Service For Voters

Earlier on July 17, Election Commission of Pakistan launched SMS service in major cities for the voters to get details about their polling stations.

According to the ECP, the voters by sending their CNIC number to 8300 can get the required details about their polling stations.

The ECP officials said the service initially launched in major cities will be expanded to the entire country.
