Islamabad(February 09, 2018): Election commission has released the polling scheme for by election in NA-154 Lodhran on Friday.
According to the details, 338 polling stations and 1043 polling booths have been made in the constituency.
Total 10 candidates are participating in this by election.
Approximately 431ooo voters are in this constituency, in which more than 23600 are men and 19400 are women.
338 presiding, 1043 asst. presiding and 20474 polling officers have been assigned for election duties.
M.Iqbal of PML(N), Ali Tareen of PTI, Mirza M. Ali Baig of PP(Parliamentary) will be contest the elections, while polling will be held on 12 February.
This by election is taking place after disqualification of Jahangir Tareen from the same constituency.
Disqualification Of Jahangir Tareen
Earlier on December 15, 2017: Following the directive of the Supreme Court Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday issued a notification disqualifying Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen as a member of the National Assembly.
“The Election Commission of Pakistan hereby de-notify Jahangir Tareen as Member National Assembly on Pakistan from Constituency No.NA-154 Lodhran with immediate effect” reads the ECP notification.
Giving their judgment in the Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen disqualification case filed by the PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi, the SC judges ruled that The verdict said that Tareen did not reply the questions raised by the court during the proceeding.
The SC bench declared Tareen dishonest for concealment of his London Hyde house in his nomination papers. The top court observed that Tareen deliberately gave the false statement before the SC for concealment the ownership of his 12-acre UK house.“Jehangir Tareen has been disqualified for not disclosing his off-shore company,” said the top court while explaining on what ground the PTI leader was disqualified.
The court also referred the matter related to prohibited fund allegedly obtained by PTI ECP for further probe.
