ECP Should Refrain From Deploying Military In FATA Polls: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Tuesday said that the authorities should avoid repeating the mistakes they made in the general elections in the upcoming elections of the newly merged tribal districts.

Talking to media outside the parliament house the PPP chairman said, “The Election Commission should refrain from deploying military in the polling stations as it will put an exclamatory mark on country’s important institution.

“The peasants are being murdered economically by the increase of inflation,” he added.

“The pests are harming corps in Sindh and Balochistan and the provincial governments need funds to overcome the situation. However, the federal government hasn’t responded to our funds’ request until now,” he further added.

The PPP chairman urged the federal government to take up the necessary and immediate measures for the welfare of the peasants.

“If the APC will decide to remove the Chairman Senate, he will have to go,” said Bilawal.

“All of our senators are standing united,” reiterated Bilawal.

“The government is busy in rigging the by-polls as it did in the general elections,” told the PPP Chairman.

“The PPP had raised the issue of rigging in the General Election in the Senate, by adding that the ECP should refrain from deploying military in the booths,” he said.

In response to a question over a question on Babar Awan’s acquittal the PPP chairman said, “It was obvious that he will come out clean from the dry cleaning process due to his affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

“We will make no compromise on our economic and political rights,” he concluded.
