Egypt’s Former President Mohamed Morsi Buried in Cairo

CAIRO: Egypt’s former president Mohamed Morsi was buried on Tuesday in eastern Cairo.

As per details, Morsi went unconscious during a court appearance where he was being trialed under espionage charges. He was immediately shifted to hospital but unfortunately died en-route to the hospital.

He remained President of Egypt from June 30, 2012, to July 3, 2013, and was the first ever democratic president of the country but was sent to jail after a coup.

Morsi along with several other co-workers of his party Akhwan-Ul-Muslimeen was being trialed under espionage charges in the court of law.

It is pertinent to mention here that Morsi was known as an ambassador of the Muslim Brotherhood but was denied his basic human right of medical treatment during his detention after he was sent to jail by Egypt’s military.

Turkish President Erdogan has also expressed his grievances over his demise and termed him as a ‘Martyr’.

The late deposed former Egyptian president was only allowed three visits of his family after being taken into custody by Sisi’s regime.
