Peshawar (June 15, 2018): Mufti Shahab-u-din Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan announced to celebrate Eidul Fitr today.
In Peshawar, the unofficial moon sighting committee of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan under the patronage of Mufti Shahabudin Popalzai once again announced Eid as he claimed to receive 14 witnesses of moon sighted.
Similar announcements were made in tribal districts of Mohmand, Bajaur, North Waziristan as well as Mardan, Charsadda and Swabi.The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has however, decided to celebrate Eid on Saturday.
Earlier Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman formally announced that Shawwal moon has not been sighted in the country and hence the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16.
Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman held a press conference at Met Complex Karachi after convening the meeting of the body for sighting the moon and gathering pieces of evidence.

Mufti announced, there is no evidence of moon from any parts of the countries so Friday, June 15, will be 30th Ramadan and the first Shawal will be on Saturday, June 16.
The body gathered evidence about moon sighting from all the four provinces of the country and meeting of Zonal moon-sighting committees were held simultaneously in their respective headquarters.
The met office also said that no moon was sighted anywhere in the country.
