Eid-ul-Azha 2019: Political Leaders Offer Eid Prayers

ISLAMABAD: The nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today with great religious zeal and fervor to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

The Eid prayers have been offered at Eidgahs‚ principal mosques and open places across the country where Ulema and Khateebs highlighted the significance and philosophy of the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

Where political leaders offered Eid prayers? 

Prime Minister Imran Khan offered Eid-ul-Azha prayer at a mosque inside his residence in Bani Gala in Islamabad and made a special prayer for the people of Kashmir.

President Dr Arif Alvi and Speaker NA Asad Qaiser offered the prayer of Eid-ul-Adha at Faisal Mosque and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the country and welfare of his countrymen.

Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed offered Eid prayer at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi and sacrificed camels in Lal Haveli.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar and Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar offered Eid prayer at Badshahi Mosque.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah offered Eid prayer at Yousuf Mosque near Commissioner Office in Karachi.

Opposition leader in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif offered Eid prayer in Model Town while JI Chief Siraj-ul-Haq offered prayer in Mansura.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari offered prayer in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s (AJK) capital Muzaffarabad and expressed solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The main congregation in Peshawar was held at Eidgah Charsadda Road where eminent politicians and religious scholars offered prayers.

Following the prayers, people slaughtered their sacrificial animals keeping in line with the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
