Eid-ul-Fitr Being Celebrated Across The Country

Karachi (June 16, 2018): Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated across Pakistan with religious zeal and fervour.

Eid prayers are being offered across the country at mosques and Eidgahs in all cities and towns of the country. Special prayers will be offered for the well-being of the country while in sermons the Ulema will highlight the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Eid congregations in Karachi started early morning, Eid prayers are being offered in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan and others cities.

Special attention has been paid to make ample security arrangements to maintain peaceful environment in the city on Eid. Sindh Rangers personnel are deployed outside mosques, Imambarghas and Jamatkhanas.In Lahore, the main Eid congregation was held at Badshahi Mosque where a large number of people offered prayers.

Security remains on high alert in different parts of the country, including the federal capital, to avoid any untoward incident on the auspicious occasion. Snap checking and patrolling by law enforcing agencies have been increased.President Mamnoon Hussain and caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk have felicitated the nation and the Muslims all over the world on the august occasion of Eid ul Fitr.

In his message, President Mamnoon Hussain has said that following the teachings of Islam in true sense, can help reduce injustices in the society.

He said going through the spiritual experiences during the blessed month, gives a realization about the difficulties of weaker segments of society.In his separate message, Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk has said the joyous occasion of Eid ul Fitr heralds completion of Ramazan ul Mubarak which further promotes the qualities of purity, self-control, compassion and sacrifice.

He said the nation should also remember today its sons who have been sacrificing their lives for safeguarding the motherland.Both the President and Prime Minister have stressed upon to include their kins, neighbours, and all the needy people in the delights of the auspicious day by providing them financial assistance through Zakat, Fitrah and Sadqa.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat have conveyed congratulation to the nation on Eid ul Fitr.

Army Chief said in the message that celebration of Eid in such a peaceful environment was the results of the sacrifices given by the martyred of armed forces, therefore nation salute to the martyred.“I pray to Almighty Allah to shower His bless on Pakistan and live it last,” he said in his message.

Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has send his deepest wishes and felicitation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“I wish to felicitate the Muslims throughout the world in general and of Pakistan in particular on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr,” said the PPP chairman in a message on the eve of the festive occasion.

Bilawal reminded that the holy month of Ramazan enjoins upon Muslims to fight the forces of intolerance and evil and to inculcate the values of tolerance and humility.

He said that the evil of our age is intolerance, bigotry and extremism. “Together we must fight the evil of intolerance and extremism in whatever shape and manifestation”.Bilawal Bhutto Sent His Deepest Wishes On EidHe added that on this Eid Muslims should also ponder over the challenges to their unity and close their ranks.

Earlier Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman formally announced that Shawwal moon has not been sighted in the country and hence the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, June 16.

Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman held a press conference at Met Complex Karachi after convening the meeting of the body for sighting the moon and gathering pieces of evidence.

Mufti announced, there is no evidence of moon from any parts of the countries so Friday, June 15, will be 30th Ramadan and the first Shawal will be on Saturday, June 16.

The body gathered evidence about moon sighting from all the four provinces of the country and meeting of Zonal moon-sighting committees were held simultaneously in their respective headquarters.

The met office also said that no moon was sighted anywhere in the country.
