BADIN: After Larkana, Eight more HIV positive cases have surfaced in Badin putting a big question mark over the Sindh government performance
The number of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) affectees in Badin has climbed to 89.
On the other hand, 14 more people, four of them children, were tested as HIV-positive in Shikarpur, taking the total number of such cases in the district to 16.
The District Health Officer (DHO) of Shikarpur said screening of 800 more people was carried out at district Shikarpur which have increased risk of more cases in the district.
Earlier on Monday, five new cases of HIV positive were surfaced in Thatta district.
According to a focal person of the Aids Control Programme Umme Farwa, five patients were tested positive for HIV in the district.
“The patients, including two women and three men, have been referred to a Karachi hospital for treatment,” she added.
However, she said the patients have refused to go to the metropolis because of a lack of financial resources.
