Abid Boxer Files Plea in LHC, Expresses Fear To Be Killed

Lahore(February 22, 2018): Encounter specialist Abid Boxer has expressed concern about his security in LHC and said that he can be killed in the encounter.

According to the details, Abid boxer’s father in law Jafar Rafique has filed an appeal to LHC on Thursday.  The lawyer of Jaffer Rafique expressed his concern that there are chances that Abid can be killed in a fake encounter.

The Justice Anwar ul Haque issued the notices to the named persons including I.G Police and Director FIA.Abid’s father in law requested judiciary to ask the police to present the case record in the court and present him in the court alive and secured.

The court has called the named opponents on next hearing.

Police Encounter Specialist Abid Boxer was on Tuesday(February 20) brought back to Pakistan and arrived at Jinnah International Airport Karachi.

He was shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigations.

Former police inspector Abid ‘Boxer’, a fugitive on the run for 11 years and wanted for dozens of extrajudicial killings, has been arrested from Dubai through Interpol on February 08.

Known for the killing of several alleged criminals in fake police encounters, a euphemism for execution without trial, Abid ‘Boxer’ was a symbol of terror during the 1990s owing to his links with the underworld of organised crime.

Earning his nickname because he joined the police service on a sports quota, Abid had a reputation for his ruthless modus operandi and ‘effectiveness’ by operating above the law.In March 2002, he was also accused of torturing stage actress Nargis, allegedly cutting off her hair and shaving off her eye-brows after demanding Rs10 million and her property documents.

He was later charged with extrajudicial killing and corruption and was sacked from the police force. He had since been a fugitive from the law and one of the country’s wanted criminals.

In 2008, Zafar Abbas, a maternal uncle of the former cop, died in police custody. He was accused of involvement in several murders, including the killing of the director of a cooperative bank, and property grabbing cases alongside Abid.
