Ending Child Bride Culture Through Fashion Show

Web Desk (December 14, 2017): UN Women Pakistan collaborated with a leading bridal wear designer to highlight the growing rate of child marriages in the country through a child bride show stopper.

In order to help change the law, UN agency for women in partnership with Ali Xeeshan and several NGOs, brought forth a social cause in an impactful way.

The ramp was walked down by bejeweled models adorning heavy, intricate outfits, followed by a show stopper, a young girl wearing school uniform and heavy bridal jewelry and a flower garland draped around her school bag.

The appearance was aimed at highlighting the rate of child brides in the country where young girls who should be going to school are married off, leading to rising health concerns of young mothers in the country.
