Entire country wants transparent probe of Panama leaks: Nisar

NEW YORK: Interior Minister Ch Nisar said the whole country wanted to have transparent investigation of  Panama leaks while the military aid in operation against bandits was not unusual as it was the duty of Pak army to help in country’s internal affairs as well.

After attending the International anti-drug conference in New York in a joint press conference with Pakistan envoy in US Maleeha Lodhi, the interior minister said that the constitution has provided the provision that the army not only the guard of country’s border but government assistance in internal affairs was also its duty.

“Pakistan has conducted  successful operations against drug smuggling and there is significant decline in terrorism in the country,” Ch Nisar adding that Rangers and police were taking part in operation not army in Karachi.

Ch Nisar further said that some elements, particularly opposition, have raised many questions over the Prime Minister family’s involvement in Panama leaks therefore entire nation wanted transparent inquiry of Panama leaks.
