Ethiopian Airlines Flight Crashes With 157 People Aboard

ADDIS ABABA: An Ethiopian Airlines flight “Boeing 737” on Sunday en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi with 157 people on board crashed.

In a statement issued by the airline, it is revealed that their flight B-737-800MAX took off at 8:38 am from Addis Ababa, however, all contacts with the flight were lost after only six minutes in air at 8:44 am.

No confirm reports regarding the number of casualties or survivors has been given yet.

“Ethiopian Airlines staff will be sent to the accident scene and will do everything possible to assist the emergency services”, said the issued statement of airlines.

Prime Minister of Ethiopia, on the incident, offered his deepest condolences in a Twitter message.

He tweeted, “The Office of the PM, on behalf of the Government and people of Ethiopia, would like to express it’s deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones on Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 on regular scheduled flight to Nairobi, Kenya this morning.”
