Facebook vows to provide ad data for audit

Facebook on Friday promised to provide details about ads displayed on its platform for an independent audit.

Facebook will provide data including exact time in milliseconds that an ad was displayed on its platform and its photo-sharing app Instagram to the regulator.

The development came just months after the Facebook announced that it was working to fix flaws in its metrics calculations. Facebook said in an online post, ” We are committing to an audit by Media Rating Council to verify the accuracy of the information we deliver to our partners.”

The leading social network also said that it would offer advertisers new options, including online paying for video ads watched from start to finish or those played with sound turned on.
