ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court warned of civil war if the sacrilegious, blasphemous, and hateful matter is not being stopped from getting posted on social media and elsewhere.
Calling the presence of blasphemous matter an extra sensitive issue Justice Siddiqui asked the authorities to find suitable solution to resolve it at the earliest.
Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Ismail Shah, Secretary Interior Arif Khan, and Inspector General Police Tariq Masood Kiyani appeared before teh court today.
When Secretary Interior said that a person even if is a public servant could not tolerate such matter Justice Siddiqui asked him whether he has taken any action against it as yet.
Everybody and everybody will be treated as per the law, we do not talk about institutions of other countries but only about our own institutions, those who are involved will be bring to the dock of the law, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui added while hearing petition against promotion and circulation of blasphemous matter on the social media.
Ordering Secretary Interior to take action today and ensure that the hate-mongering, inciting, and infuriating matter gets blocked in its entirety today, Justice Siddiqui said. If we fail to stop derogatory matter against the Benefactor of Humanity Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) there will be civil war in Pakistan, a tearful Justice Siddiqui added.
The day I have come to know about this case I haven’t slept for ten days, Justice Siddiqui said. I have taken oath on the constitution of the country and my conscience.
Adding that he would hear the case on daily basis from now on Justice Siddiqui said that ‘it is a conspiracy to make Pakistan a sex-free society.’
Directing IG Police to to keep the court intimated about whatever action he takes the Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
Police and FC commandos were deputed on the roofs of Islamabad High Court and nearby buildings during the hearing. People entering the court were searched while unauthorized persons were stopped from entering the court.
