ISLAMABAD: Following Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inssaf (PTI), Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Awami Muslim League (AML), Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday filed a petition in the Apex Court seeking review of its February 6 verdict in Faizabad sit-in case.
ECP in its petition stated that it acted against the TLP as per law, which is evident from its record.
On August 16, 2017, the TLP was served a notice to submit details of its accounts with a warning that upon failure, its registration will be revoked, it added.
“ECP had issued a notice to Tehreek-e-Labaik to provide the details of bank accounts and was warned of registration cancellation. But the observation in para 4 of SC’s verdict is against the steps taken by ECP,” stated petition.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inssaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) filed review petitions against the Faizabad Sit-in verdict in the Supreme Court (SC).
In the petition, MQM-P said that apex court decision in the Faizabad sit-in case is the violation of constitution clause.
