ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has summoned under-arrest politician and former president Asif Ali Zardari on June 26 in a case pertaining to fake bank accounts reference.
A two-judge bench of the IHC comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kyani heard on the interim bail plea filed by Asif Zardari in payment of bulletproof cars from pantry case.
On this occasion, former president’s counsel Farooq Hamid Naek and Lateef Khosa appeared before the High Court.
When asked by the court over the status of another plea if the previous one was rejected, Farooq Naek responded that it was necessary for an applicant to be in attendance at the court.
The court demanded Asif Zardari to be presented before the court, stating that he regularly attending session taking place at the Parliament House.
After hearing arguments of defendant’s lawyers, the court then issued production orders of Zardari and ordered National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to produce Asif Zardari before the court in next case hearing of June 26.
