FATA Merger: Government Appoint DPOs In Newly Formed Districts

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has approved the appointment of DPOs in newly merged districts here on Saturday.

As per details, IGP KPK Dr Naeem Khan has approved the appointment of DPOs under Police Act 2017 section 4.

A notification has been issued in this regard.

According to the notification, Abul Rasheed will be appointed in district Mohmand, Shahbab Ali in Bajaur, Raheem Shah in district Kurram and Muhammad Hussain will serve in district Khyber.

While Salahuddin Khan will serve in district Aurakzai, Kifat Ullah in district South Waziristan, Ata Ullah in district North Waziristan and Ihsan Ullah have been ordered to perform his duties in district Hangu.

It was a legal requirement to appoint DPOs in newly formed districts.

Earlier, it was announced that after the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) 25 police stations to be established in newly formed districts.

Former agencies will now be replaced as the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province 25 new police stations will be established in the merged districts of FATA.

According to the notification, district Bajur’s in Khar and Nawagai areas to get two new police stations.

District Mohmand’s Lower Mohmand, Upper Mohmand and Badi Zai, District Khyber’s Landi Kotal and Bara, District Orakzai’s Lower and Upper Orakzai will get new police stations, the notification reads.

District Kurram’s Central and Upper Kurram, South Waziristan’s Mir Ali, Miran Shah and Razmak, South Waziristan’s Serwekai, Ladha and Wanna to get new police stations.

While other six stations to be established in Kohat and Tank areas.
